On Monday, a Gujarat court in Gandhinagar convicted self-styled godman Asaram Bapu in a 2013 rape case against him.

Sessions Court Judge DK Soni has reserved his decision on the quantum of sentence for Tuesday (January 31).

The court acquitted six other defendants/accused, including Asaram’s wife, due to a lack of evidence.

In another rape case, the controversial godman is currently imprisoned in Jodhpur.
